On May 22, the breezeway of Meriam Library will be under construction due to water intrusion issues located on the podium level of the building.

Chico State’s planning, design and construction team will be removing and replacing all of the concrete located under the library to replace water proofing underground.

“We expect to have a complete transformation of the breezeway by August 18,” Project Manager in Planning, Design and Construction Kris Sanders said.

At the end of the construction period, there will be five new landscape planters, brand new storefronts, added vegetation into the area and more seating available to students.

Expect the north and south entrances in the breezeway to be closed, but know there is an alternate route that can be accessed through the staff entrance.
