Residents and students bundled the past week after some record-low temperatures hit Chico.
The low was 19 degrees on Dec. 5, breaking the record by one degree from 1972, according to the National Weather Service. Another shivering day was on Dec. 8 when Chico’s low was 20 degrees, but it wasn’t low enough to break the 16-degree record also from 1972.
These are the low temperatures for the past few days:

  • Dec. 9 was 24 degrees
  • Dec. 10 was 23 degrees
  • Dec. 11 was 28 degrees
