Former Chico mayor arrested on DUI charge
Mary Flynn, former mayor of Chico, was taken into custody for a possible DUI at the Safeway on Mangrove Avenue Sunday.
The incident occurred at around 4:30 p.m. Flynn has since been arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, according to a report by the Chico Police Department.
Flynn was previously arrested on a misdemeanor DUI charge in July 2008, according to Julia Yarbough, press information officer for CPD. She pled guilty in October 2009, according to public record.
Flynn, 61, has also taught at Chico High and served on the Chico City Council from 2006 to December of 2014.
