Dylan A. Gray announced yesterday that he will resign from his position as president of student body affairs.

Elected in April 2017, Gray’s resignation is effective for the spring semester of 2018.

Gray stated in an email to colleagues that he came to the decision to resign after working to balance the position’s demands with his own coursework to graduate.

“I need this semester to focus on matters happening personally back home,” he said in the email.

Gray confirmed that as according to standard procedures, Executive Vice President Alisha Sharma will assume his position as President of Associated Students this semester.

“My experience in leading this corporation has been an invaluable one that I will forever be grateful to have been given the opportunity, ” Gray said.

The position for AS President for 2018-2019, along with all other seats in the AS body, is up for re-election in April.
