Shots fired on Porter Way and Rio Lindo Avenue
Chico police received multiple reports of what sounded like gunshots around Porter Way and Rio Lindo Avenue at 9:30 p.m. on Friday.

Witnesses reported a male pedestrian quickly leaving the area. Police officers were able to detain 25 year old Jordan Tapp behind a closed business in the 100 Block of Rio Lindo Avenue.

Chico police recovered a handgun from Tapp who is a convicted felon on parole. He was previously arrested for feloniously possessing a firearm, possession of methamphetamine, and violation of parole.
Officers searched the area, but did not locate any property damage or gunshot victims.
