With a high wind warning in effect in Northern California, there is an increase for flash fires all across the state.

On Saturday night around 10:34 p.m. that was the case when on Gayle Road, north of Corning, a vegetation fire began.

According to Seargent Kyle Lovelady of the Tehama Police Department, there was an evacuation order sent out to Huckleberry Road, Canel View Road and No Name Road in Corning.

Cal Fire and the Tehama County Sheriff’s department worked through the night and reached 100% containment at 6 a.m. on Sunday.

The fire that burned two miles west of Interstate 5 stopped at 650 acres of damage. Two structures were destroyed and no injuries were reported.

The evacuation orders were lifted by 7 a.m. on Sunday.
