Chico State Officer Alexander Scott received accolades for saving the life of a Chico State student last fall.

Chico State Police officer Alexander Scott saved the life of a Chico State student over a year ago. Wednesday, Officer Scott was awarded for his vital aid and quick thinking.

On September 19, 2018, Officer Scott responded to a medical call for a student living in Whitney Hall. After discovering that the student was unconscious yet still breathing, Officer Scott began to perform CPR while awaiting the arrival of the Chico Fire Department.

The student was transported to a local hospital where doctors managed to perform on the student, keeping their heartbeat constant, saving his life.

Now, the student is continuing his education at Chico State and Officer Scott was awarded a lifesaving medal and uniform ribbon in Long Beach during an annual Police Commendations Ceremony at the office of the California State University’s Chancellor.
