    Homeowner attacks can-grabber on Citrus Avenue

    Chico Police:

    Wednesday, 6:09 a.m.: Assault/ battery at Sandal Wood Apartments on East Lassen Avenue. “Reporting party’s daughter and boyfriend were causing a disturbance at this location, male was hitting female, subjects were yelling, female was breaking male’s computer. Advising no weapons in the house. Male is leaving on foot wearing Sharks jersey. Walked out the door to unknown destination. Says he hit her twice with an open hand, pushed her, and choked her.”

    Wednesday, 2:06 p.m.: Accident, no injuries on East First Avenue and Oleander Avenue. “Possible minor injury. T-boned other vehicle, roadway has been cleared. Reporting party advising he bumped his head, unknown on other involved. One driver southbound on Oleander, did not see driver eastbound on East 1st. Pulled out from stop sign into path of driver. Minor damage to both vehicles.”

    Wednesday, 4:33 p.m.: Suspicious circumstances on West 19th Street. “Reporting party’s male neighbor walked up to reporting party’s open front door and began apologizing for all the perverted things he has been doing to reporting party and roommate recently. Reporting party has no idea what this man is referencing to and told him to leave immediately. Subject left in his vehicle.”

    Thursday, 7:05 a.m.: Attempted murder on Citrus Avenue. “Occurred in an alley between 1st/2nd. Female was dumpster diving with her husband, and homeowner ran out and attacked female with a knife and cut her arm. Victim in ER bed. Husband was not at scene because he has been ill. Wife has been going out on her own doing the canning. Identified in field, subject in custody for assault with a deadly weapon.”

    Thursday, 6:01 p.m.: Missing juvenile on Verona Drive. “Reporting party cannot find his 3-year- old son. Last seen inside the residence. Eight to nine neighbors actively looking for him. Six-year-old child did not see where juvenile may have gone. Reporting party is remaining home, checking all people in the neighborhood. Door was not open, but unlocked. Reporting party located juvenile sleeping in the laundry basket. Everything is clear.”

    Thursday, 6:06 p.m.: Suspicious subject on Lucy Way. “Subject going door to door taking donations for “2nd Chance” organization for battered women and children. Reporting party looked information up online and located local scam. Additional reporting party who is also a door to door salesman, saw same subjects claiming to be selling candy to raise money for t-shirts. Advising they were very suspicious.”

    University Police:

    Wednesday, 2:59 p.m.: Transient problem in Kendall Hall. “Numerous reports of male transient walking through building trying to befriend people. Unable to locate in Kendall.”

    Wednesday, 10:07 p.m.: Suspicious subject at Lassen Hall bike racks. “One white male adult, transient appearance hanging around bikes, possibly trying to take bikes. Subject last seen on bike towards Holt Hall area. Officer out with subject, subject causing disturbance.”

    Thursday, 1:44 p.m.: Welfare check at University Police Department. “Male subject walked in to lobby, confused, crying, not sure how he got here. Liberty cab en route for subject. Cab arrived and left with subject.”

    Thursday, 6:15 p.m.: Suspicious circumstance at University Village. “Reporting party reporting theft of t-shirts and pencils from her locked room, overheard her roommates talking and laughing about it. Spoke with roommates and other residents and deemed unfounded.”
