The Chico State track and field team competed Thursday at the Delta Mustang Invitational in Stockton.
The women heptathletes took seven of the top 10 spots, led by senior Sarah Hockensmith in second place with 2,469 points.
Also making the top 10 for the Wildcats were freshman Kristen Brunk in third with 2,462 points.
Junior Jessica Mixon is fifth with 2,424, then freshmen Kyle Herman (2,411 points), Brooke Whitburn (2,399) and Aryana Mires (2,251). Freshman Dominique Powell rounded out the top 10 with 2,133 points.
Brunk had a PR in the high jump and won the 200 meters. Whitburn PR’d in in the high jump and also won the shot put.
On the men’s side, three freshmen finished in the top 10. Scott Pater took second with 3,408 points, Jake Mitchell fifth with 3,133 and Lane Andrews sixth with 3,117.
