    Chico Police:

    Saturday, 9:12 a.m.: Knife incident on East Lassen Avenue. “Reporting party was on the path north of East Lassen. Male subject was walking his dog off-leash and randomly pulled out his knife and told reporting party she could do whatever she wanted to with his dog in his neighborhood.”

    Saturday, 12:27 p.m.: Hit-and-run near McDonald’s on Palmetto Avenue. “Twelve-year-old on bicycle was hit by vehicle. Victim is still there, driver paid the child $40 and drove away. Driver told the child he was in a hurry to get to an open house.”

    Saturday, 2:11 p.m.: Tree limb down on Warner Street. “Large limb ready to fall into traffic, already partly broken. Officer moved limb out of roadway.”

    Sunday, 9:46 a.m.: Subject disturbance at 20th Street Park on Dr. Martin Luther King Parkway. “Subject walking around the park pushing a shopping cart with a bike in it waving a knife around. Subject was yelling like he was challenging people to fight. Reporting party states he defended people with a stick. Medics on scene, subject detained.”

    Sunday, 7:20 p.m.: Suspicious circumstances at 1073 East Lindo Ave. “Occurred at 6:00 p.m. Reporting party arrived home and a vehicle with two males was parked in his driveway. Reporting party approached their vehicle and they told him they were looking for their mother’s house. Reporting party will call back if vehicle returns.”

    Sunday, 9:32 p.m.: Traffic Hazard at Donut Nook on East Avenue. “Male subject seems like a transient, was in roadway pushing a wheelchair westbound on East Avenue. Unable to locate subject.”

    University Police:

    Saturday, 10:26 a.m.: Elevator malfunction in Whitney Hall. “Reporting party called to say doors were opening and closing but elevator car not going down. Reporting party was able to get off and will advise front desk. No further reports of problems.”

    Saturday, 11:43 p.m.: Elevator malfunction in the Performing Arts Center. “Three subjects trapped in elevator. Subjects were able to pry door open from inside, all subjects are out of the elevator. Electrician responding.”

    Sunday, 4:43 p.m.: Animal reported in Merriam Library. “Chicken running around on second floor. Library staff is putting chicken in a box and putting it outside.”

    Sunday, 11:23 p.m.: Property recovered at the University Hub. “Resident adviser found a bike in the bushes.”
