A female suspect was in custody after allegedly robbing Walgreens on Nord Avenue at gunpoint on Sunday around 4:30 p.m.
Chico Police Officer Damon Selland said the suspect fled the scene on foot after the robbery and discarded the weapon somewhere between Walgreens and the alley between Safeway and Columbus Street.
Officers closed off Columbus Street where they caught the suspect and are still searching for a weapon, he said. Police are still investigating what the suspect took from Walgreens.
The suspect was identified as Angelia McAlpin.
