The Wildcat Invitational kicked off with the Chico State women’s track and field team sweeping in almost every event.

No NCAA Provisional or Automatic qualifying marks were made on the women’s side, but the men had four.

In the finals for the 100 meter hurdles on the women side, the ‘Cats swept first through forth giving junior Tori Mason the victory with a time of 14.94.

Senior Sean Goetzl grabbed a first place on the men’s side with a time of 14.73

The 4×400 on both the men and women side, grabbed a first place spot. The women’s team’s junior Taylor Walker-Wimberly, senior Ashley Jones, junior Aja Erskine and junior Ruby Davis were able to win their 4×100 race and earn a spot as the fourth fastest time in WIldcat history with a time of 47.41.

The quick 100 meter dash was won on the women’s side. The ‘Cats swept first through third. The men did not win the event leaving them only taking forth.

For the 800 meter run, the men’s team placed first through third.

In the 1500 meter race, first years Kyle Medina and Falco DiGiallonardo, and senior Barron Maizland all swept the first through third spot along with each individual marking NCAA Provisional times.

In both the long and triple jump, sophomore Brooke Whitburn took home first. The rest of the team followed behind in first and second behind Whitburn in the triple jump.

On the men’s pole volt side, the ‘Cats swept first through third with all of them making personal records.

Chico State’s women’s track and field team won all the throwing events which consist of discus, hammer, javelin and shot put.
