The Chico State women’s golf team competed in this week’s Second Annual Dixie State Invitational, where the Wildcats finished in fourth place.

After the first day of competition, the Wildcats ended in fifth place with 19-over par 307. Senior golfer Dani O’Keefe finished in 10th place after she shot a 3-over par 75. Fellow senior golfer Bianca Armanini shot a 4-over par 76. It didn’t get Armanini in the top 10, but it earned her a tie for 12th place alongside Emily Rotter, first-year Wildcat.

Rotter was named Wildcat of the Week last week after she finished in 10th place and set a record for the program, ending with the lowest two-round score.

The ‘Cats went into the second day five places away from the lead.

O’Keefe had quite the comeback, not settling for 10th place. She earned eighth place in the tournament as an individual and finished the 36-hole tournament 7-over 151.

After Monday’s round, Armanini and Rotter tied for ninth with a two-day score of 8-over 152.

O’Keefe, Armanini and Rotter were the only Wildcats to finish in the top 10. Junior Abbey McGrew completed the second day in 55th place with a total score of 167, while first-year Brittany O’Bryant was tied for 58th place with 169.

The Chico State women’s golf team will be traveling to Bellingham, Washington from Oct. 12-13 for the Western Washington Invitational.
