Michael Dean, a Chico State student, died of natural causes on Jan. 14.

Dean had recently transferred to Chico State in the spring of 2015 from Yuba College, and was taking classes in sociology and political science.

As a high school student at River Valley High School, in Yuba City, CA, Michael was on the school’s football team. During his time at Yuba College he was a dedicated wrestler at the Ultimate Championship Wrestling Facility nearby.

Throughout his life Michael was an avid gym goer and enjoyed working out with his friends.

Michael is survived by his parents Jennifer and Terry Kennington, and his two siblings Sierra and Gunner Kennington. The family has established an online giving page to start a scholarship to support him and his family members.

Services for Michael will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, at Hope Point Nazarene Church located at 600 N. George Washington Blvd., in Yuba City.
