Rose garden by Big Chico Creek completed
The George Peterson Rose Garden is ready for the public to taken in it’s beauty.
Located on campus, the garden recently completed it’s construction.
It was built with donations from local benefactor Marilyn Warrens and has a market value of more than $350,000.
When asked about the reason to build it, Warrens just said she hoped that more people could admire the beautiful roses.
There are a total of 200 roses in the garden. Some roses are donations from the community and others from Mendon’s Nursery in Paradise.
A roses-themed tour is scheduled to have its grand opening in May, but the exact time of the tour hasn’t been announced yet.
Last weekend, the garden greeted its first visitors since completion, among whom were a newly married couple who held their wedding here and gave a high evaluation of the rose garden.
For those interested, the rose garden is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Thursday.
