Police bike units will begin patrolling Bidwell Park and downtown areas in the upcoming summer months.

Tuesday, Chico Police Chief Mike O’Brien said two officers will be patrolling those areas to enhance enforcement.

The patrol is scheduled to begin at the end of May or early June, and will last about two and a half months.

O’Brien made the announcement at a community safety meeting held at the Chico Area Recreation & Park District center on Vallombrosa Avenue.
