Three games, three victories

The Chico State women’s basketball team won 68-44 Friday against Notre Dame de Namur, in the first of two games of the Sonoma State Elsie Darling Classic.

The win moved the Wildcats to 3-0 on the season and Friday’s performance was the third game in a row where Chico State won by at least 24 points.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 35-20 lead by halftime, holding Notre Dame de Namur to 29% shooting. The ‘Cats also had seven steals at the half, a defensive trend that has been key to early victories.

Chico State eased through the second half, posting similar numbers and dominating all aspects of the game.

Annie Ward busted out with 24 points for Chico State on 9/11 shooting and 5/7 from behind the arc. Jazmine Miller contributed nine points, nine rebounds, three assists and four steals in the win.

Chico State plays again Saturday against University of Tampa in Rohnert Park.
