A Chico State professor has been appointed to lead a program that connects school teachers in northern California with educational materials and training.
Teresa Cotner, an associate art and art history professor, will serve as the site director for the Northeast California Arts Project, according to a university press release.
The project, established in 1991, offers programs and services to K-12 teachers to promote arts education.
The program is a regional chapter of the The California Arts Project, according to the California Subject Matter Project website. It offers teachers in Butte, Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Lassen, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Sutter, Tehama and Trinity counties programs and services to enrich their classrooms
“It’s all about the arts,” Cotner said in the press release. “What we’re really focused on is research-supported methods of curriculum development and teaching.”
