Chico Fire Department responded to a fire at Cafe Petra on 163 2nd St. at about 4 p.m. on Monday.
The fire was contained between the first and second floor of the building. Fire crews worked through the afternoon to open the roof and the ceiling to ventilate and extinguish the fire.
There was a significant amount of charring according to Chico Fire Chief Steve Standridge, but there was no structural damage and the building should make a full recovery

No one was injured during the fire and Chico Fire Department is currently looking into how it started.
