Study shows increase in jail violence

While the state legislation, AB 109, might be reducing the inmate population of state prisons, it is bringing more violence to jails, according to a new study by members of the Chico State Political Science Department.

AS appoints new sustainability officer

The Associated Students elected a new commissioner of sustainability affairs. They will vote Nov. 4 to appoint a new executive vice president and senators for the college of natural sciences and college of communication and education.

Commencement to span three days

The commencement committee has finalized dates for graduation ceremonies for the 2014-2015 school year. Three separate days are set to hold different college graduations on each day.

Events to divert students from float

Chico State is holding the Wildcat Way Weekend event in an effort to veer students away from drinking and floating on the river during Labor Day weekend. Activities will be held on and off campus Thursday through Monday.
