Chico Performances presents Diavolo: Thrilling Gymnastics and Dance, a group that defines themselves as “a distinct style of architecture in motion.”

The gymnasts and dancers will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. March 25 in Laxson Auditorium.

Diavolo Dance Theater was founded in 1992 by Jacques Heim, a graduate of California Institute of the Arts. He has also choreographed for Cirque du Soleil and the TV series “Dancing with the Stars.”

Diavolo incorporates a mix of many styles, including everyday movement, ballet, contemporary dance, acrobatics, gymnastics, martial arts and hip-hop, to create their routines.

The performance will consist of their “Transit Space” routine, which is a piece about “the space between spaces” and “our physical and emotional transitions” using skateboard ramps and 10-foot metal rings.

Tickets may be purchased online or at the University Box Office.
