Wildcats headed back to championships

The wait is over for the Chico State women’s golf team. For the first time since the 2008-09 season, the Wildcats will be on of the nine teams to compete in the NCAA Women’s Golf Championship West Regional.
The announcement marks the third time since the beginning of the program in 2001 that Chico State has made it to the West Regional.
The Wildcats will be a fifth seed in the tournament, and will be led by
Sarah McComish who averaged a school-record 77.2 strokes per round. She will be joined Dani O’Keefe who averaged 78.6, Spencer Downey at 80, Heather Fegley at 80.8 and Abbey McGrew at 81.
The top three teams from the West Regional, along with the top three individual golfers that aren’t from the top three teams, will advance to the NCAA Championships from May 14-17.
