The Chico State Wildcats split the double header with Northwest Nazarene. The Wildcats lost the first game by a score of 11-3 and won the second game by a score of 3-1.

The second game of the double header had most of the action take place in the first inning. Northwest Nazarene opened with a 1-0 lead. Chico State immediately answered with back to back doubles that drove in runs by infielder Trevor Steinman and shortstop Casey Henderson.

The Wildcats had a 2-1 lead after the first inning. In the fourth inning first baseman Alex Devito would hit a double and would later be driven in to home by a single from catcher Tyler Stofiel.

Pitcher Grant Larson had a strong outing for the Wildcats. After allowing one run in the first the Nighthawks would not score again.

Larson faced a big jam in the top of the fifth with the bases loaded but got out of it with a strikeout on a full count. Larson went six innings for the Wildcats with only allowing one run.

Dan Beavers would come in to pitch for the Wildcats in the seventh to close it out. Chico State is now 3-2 on the season.

The Wildcats play another game tomorrow at noon against Northwest Nazarene and will be looking to win the series.
