Vacancies in University Police result in sponsorships

Vacancies in University Police result in sponsorships

University Police is currently looking to hire four police officers, and two sponsorships for cadet training are being offered.

According to the job description, the department is looking for two people to become cadets with the academy. After training and a probationary period, and at supervisor’s discretion, the cadet may be offered a full-time position as a police officer for the university.

Sergeant Bryce Davison with University Police said that the sponsorships have not been offered “since I was hired on in 2006,” and that the hopes are to find the right candidates to fill the vacancies within the department.

Davison said the application for the sponsorship was open to everyone but that the department does like to hire Chico State students.

Applications will open until March 13. The link to the application can be found here.
