The Chico State women’s basketball team kept their seven game winning streak alive Saturday after defeating Cal State San Bernardino 74-72.

In a crazy game at Acker Gym the Wildcats rode to victory on a game winning put back by Mckenzie Dalthrop.

In the first half, both teams battled back and forth as the ‘Cats found themselves up 34-31 at halftime.

In the second half, the Wildcats came out sluggish as they were down as much as six points 55-49. Battling back, the ‘Cats stayed resilient and got the lead 70-69 with a big lay up by senior guard Courtney Hamilton.

With 12 seconds remaining the Wildcats had a chance to hit a jumper but missed and senior forward Dalthrop put the ball back in with five seconds remaining to win the game 74-72.

Dalthrop matched her career high with 20 points shooting 10-of-14 from the field and pulling down seven rebounds. Junior guard Annie Ward recorded 15 points and three rebounds.

The Wildcats are now 15-5 on the season and 11-5 in conference play. Their next game is away against Cal State L.A. Feb.14 at 5:30 p.m.
