Dan Giustina shows off a Presidential Scholarship Jacket, given out of appreciation from the university for his donation. Students who graduate with the Bell Family scholarship will also receive the jacket.

Chico State’s College of Agriculture is now the recipient of the single largest scholarship gift in the university’s history.

The $2 million endowment comes courtesy of Dan Giustina, the managing partner of Giustina Resources, based out of Oregon.

“One of my great passions in life has been education – in particular higher education,” Giustina said. The Bell Family Presidential Scholarships will be in the amount of $5,000 and provided for up to 16 students per year.
The scholarships are named for the Bell family, who operated ranches in Chico going back to the founding of Chico State in 1887 and prior to that. Giustina was a close friend of Tom Bell, who passed away in 1987. Bell’s aunt Ada was one of the university’s earliest students, attending in 1889.
