Christmas tree lighting to be celebrated in Downtown Chico

Chico’s downtown City Plaza will host the annual lighting of a 90 foot redwood tree Friday Dec.1.

The community gathers yearly in the celebration of the holiday season to enjoy the lighting of over 2,000 LED lights, an address from the mayor and a musical performance.

Offerings will include seasonal drinks, the Children’s Choir of Chico, Sounds of the Valley Women’s Chorus and a visit from Santa.

The free event will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
