The Chico Police Department has confirmed there is no threat to Chico High School after a picture on social media caused concern.
The image, of a boy with a gun, began circulating on Snapchat and Facebook, which prompted fear from parents and students.
The boy captioned the image with a variety of threats, telling students not to go to school the next day. He even seemed to threaten “CHS”, which many believed was a reference to Chico High School.
Chico Police discovered that the student was from Clovis, New Mexico, and that he was referring to Clovis High School in the Snapchat threats.
Police in New Mexico have arrested a teenage boy in connection to the picture.
