Wildcats comeback in triumph over Cal State Dominguez Hills.

The Wildcats bounced back with an impressive road win over the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros 54-51.

After a flat first half and heading into overtime being down 33-21, the Wildcats came out with a flurry of offensive spurts to get back in the game for the second half.

Senior guard Jazmine Miller and junior guard Annie Ward hit back to back three’s as the ‘Cats went on a 12-0 run to be up 42-40. As the game became closer, the Wildcats were up 50-49 with four minutes left as both teams couldn’t convert.

Finally, the Toros had a chance for a game winning layup but it was a failed attempt and the Wildcats grabbed the rebound as Miller sealed the game with two free throws to prevail 54-51.

Leading the Cat attack was Miller who scored 19 points and 14 of them were in second half and hauling in seven rebounds. Senior guard Courtney Hamilton had an all-around game with points seven points, eight assists, and five rebounds.

The Wildcats are now 16-6 on the season and 11-6 in conference play. The ‘Cats are currently in a three way tie for second place in the CCAA. The Wildcats next game is on the road Feb. 22 against Cal State East Bay at 5:30 p.m.
