The high wind conditions during Saturday’s opening round of the Pioneer Shootout at Hiddenbrooke Golf Club in Vallejo caused all 12 teams to suspend play before finishing the first 18 holes.

Considering these unfortunate circumstances, the Wildcat’s still carded decently with a collective 31-over par 319.

Leading for Chico State is Spencer Downey with 5-over par 77, followed by Sarah McComish with 7-over par 79.

Dani O’Keefe carded 8-over par 80, Abbey McGrew with an 11-over 83, and Heather Fegley finishing with 12-over 84 at the Pioneer Shootout.

Sunday, the team will resume the completion of the first round and finish with the final round of 18 holes, for a completion of the 36- hole event. Chico State women’s golfers are on the hunt to stay in the top to continue the momentum of the 2013-14 season.
