Eduroam crashes and burns

The school’s new WiFi server, Eduroam, is more annoying than internet trolls.

I’ve been trying since school started to get Eduroam downloaded on my phone so that I won’t piss off my parents by using up all our shared data but it’s been fighting me the whole way.

I’ll finally get the software downloaded and will be able to successfully log in for a day, but the minute I leave campus and come back it’s like I’m a total stranger to the system.

This new system is supposed to be easier to use because students only have to log into the system once, but I haven’t been able to convince Eduroam that I’m a legitimate student and not a hacker.

Personally, I don’t understand why the school had to switch systems if the new system is going to act like the old one.

Sure, Eduroam is supposed to be safer, but is the system really that safe if someone can just pick up your phone or computer and have easy access to the internet without having to log in to the internet?

I guess the problem could just be my phone, which is fine since I’m getting a new one anyway, but I think it’s unacceptable that the campus got rid of a WiFi system that was all inclusive only to replace it with one that not every can use.

Come on, Chico State. I shouldn’t have to be a tech major to be able to work the WiFi system.
