Volleyball team sweeps Cal State Dominguez Hills

The Chico State women’s volleyball team displayed pure team synergy at Acker Gym Friday sweeping Cal State Dominguez Hills 3-0.

The Wildcats won by scores of 25-16, 25-15, 25-14.

In the first set, the ‘Cats came out aggressive and attentive on defense, protecting home court in front of a rowdy red crowd. The Wildcats won the set 25-16.

Through the second set, the Wildcats maintained their stellar play and cuffed up the Toros 25-15.

Up 2-0 in the match, the ‘Cats strolled through the third and final set 25-14 finishing strong and completing their second sweep of the the week.

Leading the way for the Wildcats was junior outside hitter Shannon Boling, recording 12 kills. Senior Lindsay Quigley also had 12 kills to help Chico State.

“We played great defense tonight and our sophomores played a big role In tonight’s win,” Boling said.

The ‘Cats are now 7-5 on the season and play Saturday at 7 p.m. at Acker Gym, hosting Cal State L.A.
