Strikers further plans in Kendall Hall

The California Faculty Association held an open meeting in Kendall Hall on Feb. 10 to answer questions and discuss the upcoming faculty strike with Chico State faculty and students.

The CFA held the meeting in response to their claims of stagnant wages since 2008.

“If you’re making less than you did the day you got hired, that is absurd,” said Michael Coyle, Chico State campus strike coordinator.

California State University faculty throughout the CSU system have demanded a five percent wage increase while CSU management has only offered a two percent increase.

During the meeting, the faculty association presented the “five-five-five plan”. The strike will be five days long, with five hour shifts, for a five percent income increase.

Given no further changes presented by the CSU Chancellor, the faculty strike is projected to begin April 13.
