After starting out their season with a loss, the Chico State women’s volleyball team was able to secure a three game win streak. They beat the Academy of Arts University in the second game of a double header 3-0 on Sept. 3.

The win gives Chico State a 3-1 overall season record, and closes out the Route 92 Showdown.

The ‘Cats remained in control throughout all three sets of the game. The offensive burst Chico State experienced was thanks to first year middle hitter Camryn Rocha, who had 17 kills in the game.

The success Chico State found in the game was also due to the teamwork, which was bolstered by the play of senior setter Torey Thompson. Thompson had 37 assists in the game, and helped a lot on defense with 10 digs.

The ‘Cats will return to the court on Sept. 8, against University of Alaska Fairbanks in the Division II West Region Volleyball Showcase.
