Chico State golf plays well at last tournament before CCAA Championships

The Chico State men’s golf team placed fourth out of 13 teams at the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational in Turlock on Tuesday.

The Chico State women’s golf team meanwhile placed sixth out of 13 teams at the Sonoma State Spring Invitational in Rohnert Park on Tuesday.

The men were led by Christopher Colla who finished in fourth place out of 77 individual golfers.

The next best finish for the men was Jordan Oliver who finished 14th.

Three Wildcats finished tied for 20th, these included Josh McCollum, Nicholas Caputo and Serge Kiriluk.

Other notable finishers included Kelley Sullivan at 24th and Colby Dean in 30th.

Leading the way for the women were Jessica Rudd and Clare Brady.

Rudd and Brady finished tied for 13th place out of 66 total golfers.

Other notable Wildcats for the women were Brittany O’Bryant who placed 30th and Emily Rotter who finished 44th.

The men finished the season placing in the top five of all of their tournaments except one.

The women finished strong with their best finish since February.

The women will play next at the CCAA Championships in Sonoma on April 16-18.

The men will play next at the CCAA Championships in Chico at the Butte Creek Country Club on April 23-25.
