In an effort to better understand the diversity of the student population, Associated Students has created a campus climate survey to assemble a database of student input.

The survey asks students to draw on their experiences when deciding whether they agree or disagree with statements about diversity on campus. Students are then prompted to categorize places on campus as either safe or unsafe.

The survey also asks students whether they’ve experienced harassment for reasons such as race, religion, gender identity, ethnicity and socioeconomic status.

“The Survey was created by a joint task force between the Government Affairs Committee and Student Academic Senate to investigate students experiences with diversity on campus,” said A.S. President Deanna Jarquin. “This is an important project to provide data on experiences that are now only anecdotal.”

The survey will close on May 1.
