Chico brings on March for Science

Chico State will be hosting its first March for Science on April 22.

“The March is a grassroots effort to champion science as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity, and advocate for its role in informing the policies that shape our present and future,” according to the March for Science website.

This movement is held nationwide to bring scientists and science supporters together.

“This march puts out the message that science should be supported and funded and we want our leaders to use science based evidence for their policy and law making decisions,” said Becki Brunelli, co-organizer of the March for Science.

The events taking place are listed as follows:

  • 11:00 a.m.: Tables with activities and demonstrations begin
  • 12:00 p.m.: Brief speeches
  • 12:30 p.m.:March begins through downtown Chico
  • 2:30 p.m.: Wrap up speeches
  • 3:00 p.m.: Event ends
