En este episodio nos sumergimos en la vida de Gerardo Mireles “El Profe.” Nombre que le pusieron en Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanx de Aztlan programa estudiantil al cual asesora. Él ha sido profesor de Español del departamento de lenguas y culturas de la Universidad Estatal de California Chico desde el año 2003.

Originario de Ensenada, Baja California. Mireles llegó a los Estados Unidos a la edad de 17 años para seguir a su familia quienes formaron parte del programa bracero.

“El Programa Bracero, es el programa que desarrolla los Estados Unidos porque con la primera guerra mundial y la segunda guerra mundial la mayoría de los hombres se están yendo a la guerra y hacen falta muchos trabajadores sobre todo hombres para venir a hacer trabajos en los Estados Unidos,” El Profe dijo.
